Abena Korankye is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana with extensive expertise in corporate and commercial dispute resolution, intellectual property, and international trade law. Joining Merton and Everett as Affiliate Counsel, she brings a sophisticated track record of representing diverse corporate interests in high-stakes litigation and arbitration.
During her tenure as an Associate at ENSafrica Ghana, Abena specialized in corporate and commercial litigation, particularly labour and industrial relations, debt recovery, intellectual property, product and manufacturer’s liability, land and contractual disputes, real estate and construction, arbitration and negotiation. She advised and represented a substantial portfolio of over 65 clients across several sectors including mining, oil and gas, finance, banking and finance, insurance, automotive, shipping, aviation, broadcasting and media, and food and beverages, Some notable experiences include advising and representing clients in: a mining dispute involving over $275 million, an action involving petroleum field unitization, an action involving repayment of chargebacks worth over $1 million, and tax appeals by a multinational mobile telecommunications company.
Abena currently contributes to the academic legal community as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Ghana, where she assists with research and course coordination in Commercial, Intellectual Property, International Trade and Investment Law. Her technical proficiency is supported by advanced certifications from the WIPO Academy. Abena is a member of the Ghana Bar Association and the Black Professionals UK Community.
