Dr. Elizabeth Archampongma Archampong

Dr. Elizabeth Archampongma Archampong holds a PhD from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, Canada in gender equality law, an LL.M from Queen’s University, Canada, an LL.B from the University of Ghana and is a member of the Ghanaian Bar. Dr Archampong is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, KNUST where she teaches Administrative Law and Criminal Law in the undergraduate programme and Law, Science and Technology in the graduate programme. She also supervises LL.M theses. She is the Lead for the AI and the Law Team at the Faculty of Law, KNUST and a Director at the Institute of AI Policy and Governance. A co-founder of the equality effect, a Canadian human rights charity, Dr Achampong has contributed significantly towards advancing women’s rights in Africa. Elizabeth has worked as an Employment Standards Officer and Regional Programme Coordinator for the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development, Ontario, Canada. She has also worked as a legal practitioner at Bentsi-Enchll, Letsa & Ankomah, Accra and Dadson and Associates, Kumasi, and served as a legal consultant on women and children’s rights for the equality effect in Ghana, Kenya and Canada. Her research interests are in the areas of family law, women and children’s rights, human rights, criminal law, law, science and technology and law and society.
